Ryan's dad was here!

Ryan missed his parents and wanted them to come see Brandon. Since his mom was out visiting his sister the week before (Suzi had baby Sophie) - Ryan's dad, Larry, came alone. What a nice visit we had. Unfortunately, Brandon was just wrapping up the first week of his illness and he was still quite out of it. In fact, it would be another week before Brandon was back to normal. But, at least the fever and rash were coming to an end and Brandon was starting to smile again.
Mornings with Grandpa

And nights

Ryan and his dad went to a Yankees game on Saturday afternoon...the 2nd to the last one in the old stadium (previous post). Then they wandered up from Bryant Park to Central Park and caught the usual crew of entertainers in the park: Disco skaters, drummers, Thoth, etc. Chinese take out was for dinner and football was for dessert.

Sunday morning, Ryan had a meeting with the Stake President. The outcome to that was in our previous post...1st counselor in the Singles Ward Bishopric. Wonderfully - Ryan's dad was able to ordain him a High Priest and be present when Ryan was set apart.

Then we had Sunday dinner at Clint and Diana's place, where we also got to see Alex and Brooke Hassell, Diana's brother and Ryan's friend from BYU. Ryan's duties for the singles ward already started and he did not make it to dinner until an hour and a half after it started.

The next day, we went to the park with Brandon and then Ryan's dad wandered around, got some Gray's Papaya Hot Dogs while Brandon napped. Then we all headed down to Ryan's office and had lunch with him at Battery Park with the Statue of Liberty in the distance. Then it was off to the airport for Larry and back to the office for Ryan.

We met dad for lunch downtown.
Playing with dad at Battery Park

Playing with the ball...and losing it under the bench...

As you can see he hasn't figured out how to go UNDER the bench to get the ball, luckily, Dad saved the day!

Chasing birds...

Heading back...

The not so bullish market

At the end of the day...Brandon got caught pulling all the wipes out of the box. How could mom be mad with this cute face?
