It's been a fun labor day weekend. Ryan took Friday off and spent some good time with us. On Friday we had a picnic with some old friends in Riverside park, picked up Saigon Grill on the way home...and Brandon started eating again. He liked the chicken and noodles from the bun dish. For the past almost week he boycotted food and would push it out of his mouth with his tongue, but he has started eating again so that's good. On Saturday we were in Central Park, at the playground and ate Daisy Mae's bbq. Brandon ate some sweet potatoes and rice, but really pounded the backed beans. In the mornings, Brandon and Ryan have been going to the park so that mom could get some extra sleep since we've been letting Brandon cry in the night instead of nursing. (It's working except for a period in the early morning that has Brandon awake for awhile, thus mom is awake.) On one of the morning jaunts, Brandon showed Ryan a new trick (mom had already seen it a few days before) at the drinking fountain. He plugs his finger in the faucet and sprays water ALL OVER! He thinks it is so much fun!
On Sunday for Ryan's birthday - we had chicken enchiladas which Ryan picked...and to mom's chagrin, made most of. He said it was his birthday wish to cook something so while mom was distracted finishing up his bday present, he was in the kitchen cooking. It was a yummy meal, better than mom can make! Brandon loved the soggy cream of mushroom laddened tortillas. I did manage to make a cake for Ryan and we blew out
the candles with Brandon grabbing at the flames. Ryan got a digital picture frame. Now he can have over 200 photos slideshowing through his frame at work. ( I loaded 244 photos on it and he watched photos of Brandon from birth until now.) His other gift is a apple laptop but we won't buy it until end of month after the newest version comes out.
Labor day morning, mom found Brandon's christmas present from dad...a Hess monster truck. We pulled it out of the box and gave it to him to playwith and he went to town! It comes with 2 motorcycles and the trucks makes noise and has lights.

We tried to distract him from going back to the kitchen....but he went back for more...

Mushy card from mom...had to turn my head...but I had to see what it said.

Dad got a cool frame, and some cool paper to play with.

This fun girl is trying to show me a baby book.

I tried to explain, that this tractor book was much cooler. Or this Fire Engine Book??

In the end, she surrendered and admitted I was right!

Barnes and Noble is SO FUN! It was balls, wheels. But soon it's time to go home to bedtime and my own books....
WATER WATER WATER WATER!!!
All weekend long we played with water. Brandon absolutely LOVES it.
We think it's fun to see him so happy and free.
and it freaked him out for awhile.

He decided to sit out for awhile and play with good ole familiar ladybug ball.

But then he was right back at it.

Dad's birthday picnic in the Park!

The Brunsons and Nelsons joined us. All the kiddos were there. Gavin, Eli, Jane, Mary and of course Brandon!

Mom and Brandon

Brandon and Dad (playing soccer of course!)

The amazing blue tunnel

I finally got a piece of dad's birthday cake! Yeah!

So, do you think I liked it?

I told dad when it was time to go home to bed.
